Hello-I was able to take pictures of the process I use to create acrylic landscapes on canvas. I am fairly new to acrylics . However, many of the same basic rules used in pastel painting still apply. I have always tried use and assortment of colors as long as the values are similar. Albert Handell has been teaching this concept for many years.
This painting in on gessoed canvas and measures 24x36 inches. The reference photo was shot on October 24 of an area near my home. I first sketched the compositon on to the canvas with a dark grey color. I then used a dark grey , grey and light grey to construct a value painting. After letting the it dry, I begin to add local color to the piece
